About this Broadman guide

What the Broadman line is, who stands behind it, and what this independent guide does for you.

What Broadman Church Supplies is

Broadman Church Supplies is the church supplies line of B&H Publishing Group, the publishing arm of Lifeway Christian Resources in Nashville, Tennessee. The line covers the communion table (Fellowship Cup prefilled cups, cups, bread, RemembranceWare trays and portable sets) and the church office (bulletins, certificates, envelopes, badges and cards).

The name goes back a long way in Baptist publishing. The Broadman Press imprint was in use by the Sunday School Board by 1960, and in 1993 Broadman Press merged with the Holman Bible Company to form Broadman & Holman, later shortened to B&H. Lifeway sells the line in its own store.

What this guide is

This site is not B&H Publishing and not Lifeway. It is an independent guide written for the people who order supplies for a church: the communion preparer, the church administrator, the deacon who visits members at home.

We take the line apart by what each box holds: how many cups, how many wafers, what the bread is made of, how big the tray is. Then we put the price of one cup next to the price of the box, because that is the number a budget meeting asks about.

How we write the pages

Facts come from each product, one at a time: a count printed for one box is never carried over to another. Ingredients are copied from the box copy, and where gluten or allergens come up we cite the FDA. Where giving records come up we cite the IRS. Our editorial policy has the details.

We do not tell your church how to serve communion. We describe the supplies and leave the practice to you.

How you buy

Each product has a button to our retail partner, where the order is placed, paid for and delivered. A qualifying purchase earns us a commission. It does not change your price, and nobody at B&H or Lifeway asked for or approved anything here. Prices are from our last catalog update.

Sources

This is general information, not dietary or medical advice. If someone in your church has celiac disease or a food allergy, the label on the box and that person's own doctor decide what is safe to serve.

Gluten and Food Labeling U.S. Food and Drug AdministrationA food labeled "gluten-free", "no gluten", "free of gluten" or "without gluten" must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten; the claim is voluntary, and gluten occurs in wheat, rye, barley and their crossbreeds.
Food Allergies: What You Need to Know U.S. Food and Drug AdministrationNine major food allergens, wheat among them and sesame since January 1, 2023, must be named on the label, in the ingredient list or in a "Contains" statement next to it.
Charitable contributions: Written acknowledgments Internal Revenue ServiceA gift of $250 or more needs a written acknowledgment from the church: its name, the amount, and a statement that no goods or services were given, or that they were only intangible religious benefits.
Substantiating charitable contributions Internal Revenue ServiceFor a money gift of any amount the donor keeps a bank record or a written communication from the church showing the date, the church and the amount; a donor's own notes are not enough.
